Your Mindset Will Determine How You React To Obstacles

Breaking Through an ObstacleYour mindset which is created by your focus will lead you to overcome obstacles or it will allow you to be defeated by them. The choice is yours.

A very subtle reality is that often your main focus resides in your subconscious mind. This means that you may not even realize what you are really focusing on. And remember, your mindset is created by your focus.

So how can you discover what your main focuses really are? How can you change any wrong focus?

1. By taking notice of your reactions to situations and obstacles in life, you can discover some of the attitudes that are residing in your subconscious mind.

2. You can make a conscious effort to refocus on the things you want to reside in your subconscious mind so that the new thoughts you store will erase the old.

When an obstacle crosses your path, one of two things will happen:
    A. You will have the strength to focus on looking for a solution, rather than being distracted by the problem or obstacle. This will happen when your mindset is strongly positive because your subconscious focus is set on winning.

    Or ..

    B. You will find yourself tending to look at the worst case scenario, and so will look at the obstacle from that perspective rather than focusing on looking for a solution.

So it is easy to see that your reaction towards any obstacle that comes your way has a lot to do with your mindset.

If your focus is already on winning, then your reaction to any obstacle will be positive. You will be set on overcoming it. This is because your mindset created by your focus is positive.

When your focus is always positive, you have already decided on three things:

    • You WANT to reach your goal.
    • You ARE CAPABLE of reaching your goal.
    • You WILL reach your goal.

However if your focus tends to be a little on the negative side, the obstacle has a chance of causing you to give up. Again this is because your mindset has no positive foundation.

If you find yourself accepting failures, you may have unconsciously given yourself room to fail with such thoughts as:

    • Well, let’s see how this works out.
    • If I don’t make it at least I will have the satisfaction of knowing that I tried.
    • Well you know how the saying goes: “Aim high and you won’t shoot low”.
    • If I reach half of what I plan to do, I will be happy.

I have heard many people say things like this. Many of these folk are not aware of what they are really saying. They are preparing excuses for possible failures. They are giving themselves a reason for failure.

Tweet thisIn other words if you think in any of these ways according to the examples listed above, what you are really doing is weakening your determination to succeed. I am sure that you can see just how negative this way of thinking is.

I know you are a champion. So you are preparing and training your mind for success by focusing exclusively on reaching your goals. You give yourself no reason to fail and every reason to win.

It is extremely important to train your mind to stay focused on success without giving yourself a loophole of any kind to fail. In other words, don’t give yourself any excuse for failure.

Any thought that uses the word “if” in the context of a negative possibility will turn the focus of your subconscious mind to accept the possibility of failure. In a very subtle way this contributes towards training your brain for failure, instead of cultivating the mindset for success.

So my challenge to you today is to train your mind to always focus on POSITIVE outcomes because:

    You Are A Champion!
