<p><strong>Your words are definitely VERY important. </strong><br />
Your life <strong>CAN</strong> be either blessed or cursed by YOUR words.<br />
This is especially true of words that are repeatedly declared day after day. </p>
<p><strong>We have all faced tigers and tigresses:</strong><br />
Words are even more powerful when they are repeated with the roar of emotion. This is why you can have so much trouble overcoming negative words spoken to you during childhood. </p>
<p>A huge percentage of those negative words you received were directed at you loaded with strong emotions.<br />
<strong><br />
The way out:</strong><br />
The way to climb out of the pit of negativity and walk the road towards real success in life does BEGIN with speaking positive words and affirmations. But<strong> ACTIONS</strong> need to follow. </p>
<p>The positive words including the daily affirmations that you declare will recondition your brain. Then your brain will be able to send positive signals and instructions to you each day. </p>
<p><strong>Now you have another responsibility:</strong><br />
In order for the success cycle to be truly activated you need to <strong>OBEY</strong> those new instructions that your brain is sending you. </p>
<p>If you omit to obey the positive instructions your brain is sending you, you will end up in great confusion and frustration. </p>
<p>This would put you in danger of joining the forces of those who are saying: &#8220;I tried that and it did not work&#8221;. No, they did not REALLY try it. They were simply living in a fantasy land of easy success (the magical formula syndrome).</p>
<p><strong>So what is the REAL key to a life of success?</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Speak positive words. Recondition and retrain your brain with strong positive words and avoid all negative words.</li>
<li>Make a DAILY habit of declaring positive affirmations that are aimed at training your mind to believe that you CAN reach your goals and dreams in life. Success is your birthright!</li>
<li>Take <strong>ACTION</strong>. Take the words you are affirming and use them to create a strategic plan of action that will lead you to the success you dream of enjoying. Then follow this plan taking at least one step EVERY DAY</li>
</ul>

<strong>What exactly IS an affirmation?</strong>
The dictionary tells me that an affirmation is a statement asserting the existence of a truth of something, the act of affirming, asserting, avouching or stating something. 

So when you make an affirmation, you are asserting the existence of the truth of your statement, right?

Now I am sure that you have read many affirmations over Twitter or Facebook (or both) and perhaps stopped to think and say: Well I am not REALLY sure that this is true for me. 

<blockquote><strong>For example: </strong>are you REALLY sure that you are a champion? Perhaps you are or perhaps you have doubts about that. </blockquote>

Let's suppose that you are not yet REALLY sure that you are a champion. Why would there be some uncertainty in your mind about this?]]></description>

<p>Did you read the article on this blog entitled <a href = "http://mindsetforliving.com/discover-your-champion-spirit" title = "Discover Your Champion Spirit" target = "blank">Discover Your Champion Spirit?</a> In this article I talked about an experiment organized by Jack Canfield. I read about this experiment in a book on Accelerated Learning. </p>
<p>A team of researchers were sent to accompany 100 young school children (ages 5-6) for 1 day. They were to make a note of every word that each child spoke. The results were astounding. </p>
<ul>
<li>The average positive comments spoken were 72 while
</li>
<li>The average negative comments spoken were 684!</li>
</ul>
<p><img src = "http://mindsetforliving.com/images/small_children_01.jpg" alt = "Small Children" align = "left"/>So that is a sample of how YOU probably grew up. Yes, you more than likely grew up speaking up to 10 times more negative words than you spoke positive. </p>
<p><strong>Add to that the following fact:</strong><br />
The average person has close to 85,000 negative thoughts every day. </p>
<p>Now we have the reason for needing to make these assertive declarations EVERY DAY. </p>
<p><strong>So what can affirmations do for you?</strong><br />
When you start to make assertive declarations every day you are reprogramming your brain from all of the negative influences that you were brought up hearing, and most likely still hear around you. </p>
<p>Note that the word <strong>&#8220;ASSERTIVE&#8221;</strong> is found in the definition of affirmation. </p>
<p>When you speak these statements out loud, your brain will hear YOUR voice and begin to respond. </p>
<p>As you speak with conviction (assertiveness) your brain will take even more notice. When you make these same declarations every day your brain will begin to create a new track in your mind. The new track will be a positive one. If you are diligent to continue with the habit of making affirmations (OUT LOUD) every day this track will replace the old negative one. </p>
<p><strong>NOTE:</strong><br />
For these affirmations to REALLY &#8220;work&#8221;, you cannot simply make declarations every day and expect miracles to happen. </p>
<p>You will certainly notice some definite changes in your life as your brain responds to the positive words. However for the miracle to be complete in your life you also need to ACT. </p>
<p style = "text-align:center"><strong>Faith words plus ACTION will lead to miracles.</strong></p>

<p>What? Your belief and value system was not created by your environment, by your parents or by people in your life?</p>
<p>Nope. They were created by your reactions to that environment and the people you have been around across the years. <strong>YOU</strong> created the foundation that resides in your subconscious mind.</p>
<p><strong>So who&#8217;s to blame?</strong><br />
Do you see something here. So many people blame outside circumstances and other people for the way they are today. But it is no one else&#8217;s fault but yours and mine. You and I are who we are because of the way we reacted to or responded to the many influences on our lives.</p>
<p>Sure, some folk had a kick start because of early strong positive influences in their lives. But they still had to allow those influences to directly influence them positively. They had to make a decision to let those influences take a part in creating their value system.</p>
<p>Every time you come in contact with a person or a circumstance in your life that impacts you either negatively or positively, you do <strong>one of three things.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Assimilate it and store it away. </strong><br />
There are times when a daily event (or events) causes such an impact on you, that you spend some conscious time thinking about it. You may rehearse an experience (whether it be a good one or a bad one) for some time after the event.</p>
<p>Of course if it was a bad experience, then the emotions that keep coming back as you go over and over the situation in your mind will be negative.</p>

Then every time something similar happens in your future, those negative emotions will appear without control.</p>
<p>If it was a good experience, that same will happen, but in reverse. The experience will be stored in your mind as a positive memory and will be attached to a good emotional experience.</p>
<p><strong>Ignore it or filter it out. </strong><br />
Perhaps you have already been training your brain to stay on the positive. This will mean that you are already learning to filter out the negative impressions. You will not allow them to go into your subconscious mind and contaminate your belief and value system.</p>
<p>Of course this means that you will be always on the alert. There <strong>IS</strong> a war going on.</p>
<p>You are born a champion. You were born to conquer. But there is an enemy that is constantly attempting to pull you into the negative realm. To fight this war and win, you need to stay alert. Your mind needs to be <strong>ACTIVE.</strong></p>
<p>Now ignoring a situation is not the same as filtering it out. If you do not filter it out <strong>ACTIVELY</strong>, then simply ignoring the event will not be sufficient to stop it from reaching your subconscious mind. It will enter slip into into your value system unnoticed and be there to influence your reactions in the future.</p>
<p><strong>Make a decision based on the encounter. </strong><br />

<ul>
<li>This decision is going to enter your subconscious mind and affect your value and belief system.</li>
<li>This decision will influence future decisions in your life.</li>
<li>This is another reason that the decision to forgive (where there has been a negative encounter with another person) is so important. This decision will affect YOU more than it will affect the other person.</li>
<li>The decision you make will add to or take away from the foundation of beliefs and values that are already stored in your subconscious.</li>
<li>I am sure you can see that the decision you make needs to be a positive one. Make sure you note your decision in your journal. This will help you to commit yourself to the firm decision you made.</li>
</ul>
<p>Yes you <strong>CAN</strong> train your brain. You <strong>CAN</strong> change your belief and value system into one that will allow you to be the champion you were born to be. To do this you need to be alert and active in your mind.</p>
